For Terry Thompson, "country" is not just the music style for which he has become noted, it's also the life style he proudly lives every day.  Born and raised in eastern South Dakota, Terry takes his music as seriously as he does his management position on the Thompson Brothers' Farm, the family's 2500 acre grain farm.  Living off the land is a proud heritage for Thompson and inspiration for much of his songwriting.

Music has always been a passion for Terry and a soothing departure from the grinding pace of farm work.  Even as a little boy Terry would play his little plastic guitar and entertain anyone who would listen.  It was inevitable that he got a real guitar and before long had taught himself to play and began writing his own songs.  By high school, Terry was playing in a band that covered all genres of music and gave him the opportunity to showcase his original songs as well.

Terry had planned to say goodbye to the farm and make music his life until the tragic day when his father, Gene, was killed in a car accident, leaving an 18-year old Terry to fill his father's work shoes.  What seemed then to be an overwhelming burden and the end of his musical aspirations, Terry has since come to realize as a gift.  The hard work and dedication the family farm demanded, molded him into a strong man and taught him appreciation for life, love and the land and all it's bounty.  Instead of squashing his musical goals, his struggles only served to fuel his passion for music and inspire him to sustain both careers.

With the encouragement of his family, especially his daughter Michelle and son Jesse, Terry joined the Midwestern Songwriters Alliance in 1997 where he met other enthusiastic musicians and songwriters.  With the support of MSA, Terry was able to take his music to Nashville where his songwriting style was met with much praise.  In 1999 Terry had the exciting opportunity to perform on the stage of the famed Bluebird Cafe.  By 2001 Terry was meeting with record executives and recording his compositions.  Over the years Terry has enjoyed the myriad of avenues that music has opened for him, including the radio success of his recent releases, having his songs hit the charts and touring around the country meeting so many wonderful fans.  Terry has recently added television credits to his list of accomplishments when the award-winning outdoorsman series "The World Of Hunting" chose his original composition as their theme song.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Terry is also proud of his active involvement with many charitable organizations and events including the Irlene Mandrell Celebrity Shoot which benefits the "Wish Upon A Star" foundation, the Pikes Peak Celebrity Golf Tournament and Rodeo which raises funds for the prevention of child abuse, the "Hunt For A Cure" Celebrity Hunt which benefits the Camp Gilbert's diabetes organization and many more.

Music continues to be a fulfilling passion for Terry and he treasures each new experience as he travels the country achieving his musical goals.
